A woman has been accused of beating up her friend after overhearing her talk about her ex-lover in her sleep.
Alexis Dorothy Talley, 23, has been accused of hitting her 21-year-old friend at their Florida home.
The victim told police she was asleep when Talley woke her up and told her she was talking about an ex in her sleep around 11:40 p.m. on June 13.
The two women began fighting and escalated into a physical fight at the Tampa Bay home on the 200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Talley admitted she verbally confronted her friend after overhearing their sleep talk.
However, Talley insisted the fight was “only verbal and not physical” and that her friend was injured due to “a previous disturbance and not from tonight”.
Police arrested Talley and she was charged with a household battery. She was booked into the county jail and released the next day on $2,500 bail. A judge has ordered Talley to stay away from her friend.
Talley has a criminal record. It led her to a no-contest plea and an increased charge over allegedly beating her friend.
Talley was convicted of disorderly conduct, DUI and marijuana possession. She was already facing a felony related to a May arrest of marijuana possession.
Police officers took Talley into custody during a traffic stop, where they found two bags of marijuana in the car she was driving.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released by authorities.
